SPACEMAN – JUMP HOUR

(photo: Mitch Greenblatt, Watchismo)

THE SPACEMAN – JUMP HOUR

Originally in two colors,  Red or Blue
(Photos: Mitch Greenblatt, Watchismo)

Introduced in 1977,

And Rare as a yellow lobster,

The Third Spaceman Range of models,

was also a rather peculiar jumping hours version,
with rotating disks.

The case,

Maybe with a much too eclectic look , and asymmetric shaped,

was designed in the likeness of an astronaut’s helmet

like his brothers.

But  seems later there was a Stainless steel and  black glossy model available.

However, Unlike the Spaceman Oval and Adacieuse,

of which theres been around a good bunch of them in  *Nos* condition in recent years,

Here its not the case.

The Spaceman jump hour model is terribly scarce,

and units of this model available in the market in original condition are unlikely.

Most probably, this couple from the collection of  Watchismo,

might be of the very few units, that retain their original state.

Normally when a unit pops up the net,  it comes washed out from colors.

My personal opinion is that these other models next in the gallery,

had the case been polished intentionally by owners,

in order to hide the inevitable scratches in the paint finish due to the use or age,

and thus make them more presentable for sale.

Also as you can see,

the inner disk system came Normally in White or Black,

But apparently though, they could also be Orange , being this model my favourite.

Without doubt one of the most beautiful Jump hours Spaceman I’ve seen,

as the combination of orange discs in the black polished case , highlights the set made by Catena

For comparison, in the gallery just the very same unit , but with white discs and marketed Tressa Lux
